Employment:
Education Coordinator
Purpose: The Education Coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating educational program activities, including scheduling, facilitating/teaching classes and follow up evaluations; scheduling staff and/or volunteers to teach, conduct classes; organizing staff/volunteers at health fairs and events; and performing administrative functions as necessary.
Reports To: Executive Director
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Schedule and co-facilitate Powerful Tools for Caregiver and Chronic Disease Self-Management Program
workshops at Elder Network office and off-site locations.
• Collaborate with staff and/or volunteers as necessary to health/vendor fair participation.
• Maintain statistical data for all education-related activities (i.e., number of participants, volunteer hours
dedicated education activities, etc.). Prepare reports and updates as required.
• Maintain inventory of all educational materials and teaching tools and supplies such as text books,
flip charts, etc.
• Support grants and fundraising efforts as needed.
• Perform other tasks as required.
Schedule: Part-time, Flexible, 10 hours per week
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor of Arts or Science in Social Work, Nursing or related fields, or 4 years of related experience, training or equivalent combination preferred.
• Minimum 3 years experience working with older adults and the public in an educational setting; experience in working with volunteers a plus.
• Knowledge of caregiving and aging issues preferred and highly desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Other critical skills required include
the ability to multi-task; self-motivated; work with multiple groups and diverse communities, and
proficiency in MS Office.
